Unusual Christmas Occurrences

Unusual Christmas Occurrences (Written by Mark Edward Tate)

Nine (9) band new, chilling Christmas stories that deliver unexpected twists at every turn. Encounter haunting visitors from the past, mischievous twins known as the Pranksters, and Christmas lights that cast shadows darker than the night. A young couple's unconventional gift-giving takes a sinister twist, while a cunning Christmas thief wreaks havoc in a quiet cul-de-sac. Each tale weaves a tapestry of holiday intrigue, blending festive cheer with eerie suspense, reminding us that the season can hold more than just joy—sometimes, it harbors secrets best left buried. Perfect for those who crave a darker twist on holiday storytelling.

I’ve wanted to write some Christmas stories for many years now. Finally, this December 2024 I put pen to paper and did just that! I wrote nine (9) new short stories about Christmas, only they each have a little twist, a little Mark Edward Tate weirdness to them! Of course they did! They were so much fun! I had the idea for Merry Little Pranksters forever, going all the way back to high school days. There are many different versions of this story. That’s where this collection started. Next, Into the House popped into my head. Before I finished that story, more kept flooding my mind. I don’t know where the ideas came from, my imagination yes, but other than that I was just typing away and seeing where the story would take me! Some of them got a little dark, some were lighthearted, and some emotional. I wrote for like two weeks straight, put each story aside as I finished it, then went on to the next one. I then went back and started the rewrites, the edits. Some of the stories, yes I wrote a lot more than nine, didn’t make the cut. The ones that did I was most satisfied with. The others I may tweak or add to in the future, maybe for next year!

I love Christmas time, the season, the feeling in the air. It’s magical! I hope you enjoy the stories as much as I did writing them. If you like them let me know. If you don’t then sorry for wasting your time, lol. I will always cherish them either way and that’s what counts the most! I will go back and read them to enjoy the characters and stories I created to bring them back to life in my mind! I have also written many other short stories and some full length novels as well. If you get an idea that pops in your head, don’t procrastinate, don’t delay. I recently bought some new journals to write in and that was the only spark I needed to get writing again. Find your spark, and get writing! - Markis
